About Me:

After many years of performing onstage and in the studio with a variety of jazz, progressive rock, and metal bands, Wa formed Dead Poets Society to reflect his obsessions and sensibilities regarding electronics, storytelling, myth and literature. Wa proceeded to write and record the bulk of their first album, The Electric Haze, by himself, with the exception of a collaboration with Andrea Sorrels on the rape recollection of "I Don't". The album and its singles became a hit on the now defunct mp3.com and the ever successful CDbaby.com The Electric Haze, the debut album, appeared in 2001 and garnered the attention of many devoted electronic and goth fans from inspired reviews in publications and websites such as Gothic Beauty, Nocturnal Movements, Wrapped In Wire, and Gothicvixen. Shortly after release, DPS added members Raven Nightshado (who would later take on a much more prominent role in the band), and Tim Gibson, who specialized in stringed instruments. Live shows with motion picture soundtrack artists The Dragonflies and King Black Acid followed. In early 2002, the EP Deprogramming was released. It featured rare songs and remixes of some favorites from The Electric Haze as well as a half dozen new tracks. Among them, the polarizing song "Synners" inspired by the novel of the same name by Pat Cadigan, as well as EBM and trance releases of "Ramadan Mirador", "Invisible Monsters" (inspired by the novel of Chuck Palahniuk) and "Massacre". A music video for "Synners" that explored the nature vs nurture question, and a video for an unreleased song "This Side of Forever" debuted in the spring of 2002. DPS performed as an opening slot on a short tour of the West Coast with grammy nominated artist Spectre VII that closed out year 2002. Dead Poets Society went on hiatus for a year before they began recording of their second full length album. Advance singles from the unreleased album include "Gates of Hell" and "Karma Factory". The new album tentatively titled THE BONE CHURCH will also feature a unique DPS cover of a classic The Dragonflies track, "10 til 9". Renowned for their unique remixing prowess Dead Poets Society has been fortunate enough to remix tracks from Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Collide, Minefield, Hotboxed, Ilona, and The Armageddon Project.
