About this user

I do not claim to be an expert in any specific area of knowledge except for my own personal life experiences & education. I consider myself an average intelligent person who was lucky enough to have been born in a time and place where secular freedom, opportunity, abundant resources, & life in general - was welcoming, tolerant, & accepting. I was born a Southerner and an American Citizen & with that privilege, I feel I was much luckier than the majority of most of the rest of the world. I certainly realize that if I had been born in another time or place, I would probably be a product of whatever traditions, ideologies, & circumstances a different human culture or society might try to make of me.

I considered myself religious well into my early college years & even thought seriously at one point of attending a Seminary College. I felt this way mainly out of loyalty to the religious traditions that I was brought up with & the ever present peer pressures from family, friends, teachers, coaches & the community that I was part of. As I continued living life, working careers, traveling, experiencing & maturing, I began to embrace verifiable knowledge over blind faith for what obviously gave me real tangible answers to life's questions versus the intangible and vague answers that religious faith only had to offer me. I easily embraced the tangible, empirical & provable knowledge that modern academia & the various sciences has discovered and enlightened me with. For me, learning science & experiencing different religious faiths & various personal life situations, became important components in my spiritual & educational evolution & maturity. All of these life enhancing personal experiences led to my spiritual & educational evolution to where I am today as non-religious & secular person.

I understand that the world's religions are valuable to humanity, but only has a historical perspective to understanding ourselves & how earlier human culture once was; how ancient societies & people once existed; How they thought, believed, acted, lived & died. I accept and understand that Religion is mankind's most elaborate & ornate creation, an edifice at once terrifying, mythic, consoling, amusing, edifying, & inspiring. Religion is integrated throughout human history, a beacon that has caused nations to fight wars & create civilizations, make monumental works of art & literature and music, develop intricate legal & ethical systems & give sanctity to human life in the absence of scientific understanding. Religion (prior to modern science) has invested our puzzling existence with individual worth and meaning..... Not bad, considering the entire enterprise is built on a foundation of high hope, great fear, and extravagant superstition & rumor.

Now is the time in human history that all mythical & imaginary religions should be replaced with the real and verifiable knowledge that modern science & technology has discovered and brought to us. I strongly believe that all Religions must go extinct so that mankind can survive, continue to progress & evolve to reach our full potential (which we are a long way from acheiving).
