In 2006 Macs videos were selected for the Emmy Awards in a new category, Outstanding Achievement in Content for Non-Traditional Platforms.

Seeking a new direction, he returned to school to pursue a career in screenwriting, and spent his third year at the Sorbonne in Paris, France.

Returning to the University of Washington for his final year, he won the prestigious Academy of Arts and Sciences Nicholl Screenwriting Regional Award 1988, and was a first round semi finalist.
