Dorstein is a unique and eclectic source of entertainment combining original electronic music with singing, burlesque performance and visual art with music styles from ambient to industrial funk. This dynamic husband and wife team bring the reflections of their 11 year relationship to create an unforgettable show encouraging audience participation and an experience for all who attend. Comparable artists include Lords of Acid, Electric Hellfire Club, Impotent Sea Snakes, and Lovage.
Dorstein is always looking for volunteers to help perform the naughtiest of exploits. They've had the honor to have worked with such sponsors as Adam and Eve supplying sexy prizes for their "Pornostar" contest, where people come up on stage to moan and grind, showing off their porn star skills . The winner is chosen by the audience. They are currently working on a master/ slave routine for the song "Full Time Slave". They have performed at different venues including Detroit Beer Co, The Future Artists and Musicians Gallery, Detroit Erotica Ball (at Bert's warehouse), Simons, Floyds and after parties around Detroit with belly dancers, performing artists, drag queens, and many other Detroit artists and musicians.
Torben began composing music at age 17 with a half broken tape recorder, some effects processors', a stick, a pot he borrowed from his mother, and his voice. Today he utilizes computers and assorted software to create the sound he is looking for. With his major influences being Trent Reznor, Jim Morrision, Roger Waters, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Mozart, Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, King Crimson, VAST, Mike Patten projects, and Velvet Underground he brings diversity and originality to the electronic music scene.
Corianne joined Dorstein in 2005 with her sexy goddess attitude. She brought a new level of performance and life to Dorstein. With her major influences being Tori Amos, Lori Perry, Bjork, Regina Specktor, Blondie, Mazzy Star, Axl Rose, Robert Plant, Mama Cass, Joan Jett, Siouxie, James Brown, Betty Page, Joan Crawford, Dirty Martini and many muses, she brings live performance, choreography and her mad networking skills to the project.
Dorstein is interested in putting a band together including guitarists, bassists, and percussionists; working with people to expand possibilities with recording and performances in both old and collectively created new music. Torben is also available to create custom soundscape designs for your video projects, from commercials to films.
