About this user

A Tibetan in exile, Dorjee Tsering was born and brought up in India and is an alumni of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts. His passion for Tibetan traditional music has always been in his blood since his childhood days. He is trained in Tibetan traditional music, classical music, singing and dance and he is a master of the folk instruments dra-nyen, piwang, flute and yang-qin. His passion for Tibetan culture has led him to teach Tibetan music and dance to Tibetan children in exile and to perform free shows in his hometown Dharamsala, India (that he shares with the Dalai Lama) in the name of the preservation of Tibetan culture. He has released nine albums of Tibetan traditional and classical music on his own. Dorjee is now looking for help to spread his music further afield.
