u r right the red window around the sims means they r vamps. Not sure what all you can do as a vamp except you can make other people think of u, kind of like a mind control mechanism. U will also find juice boxes of blood in your fridge. Gr8 lp...hope u have fun on your picnic.

On the cities you know that will be taken over, can you sell the buildings in the city prior to the takeover for a little extra cash?
