About this user

Whether it's teaching my friends how to cook or providing families in need with much needed necessities, I'm happiest when I get to roll up my sleeves and help (or try to help) others.

People always ask me why I cook so much and why I am so passionate about healthful eating. I learned how to cook when I was young—my mom worked and commuted long hours and she needed my help getting dinner on the table. She would leave me notes on how to prepare the meal for my sisters and dad. It taught me early on how to read recipes and feel confident in the kitchen.

Years later, I still feel better and find it more satisfying to cook and feed my family with ingredients I have shopped for and cooked with myself. I certainly realize that not many people have the skills, confidence and time to shop and cook. This is the reason I wrote my books Deceptively Delicious and Double Delicious. It is also why I recently started do it Delicious. I know the quick home videos and step-by-step photo recipes can help people learn how to cook. I hope you give them a try.
