I'm 22, fresh out of college, and about to attend Physical Therapy school. I have been "trying" to lose weight for years. This past fall I finally established a consistent workout routine and started eating healthier, but winter break hit and for some reason I decided I'd rather lay on the couch and eat fast food and sweets for a month! I am sick of trying to lose weight. And more than that, I'm sick of BEING SICK of trying to lose weight. Enough is enough. I am determined to reach my goals once and for all, and I'm hoping I can find the support and motivation I need here!Why do I want to lose weight and get healthy?? First and foremost, for myself! I'm done trying to look good for others or fit in...I will be a much happier person once I reach my goal weight and am making healthier decisions in all areas of my life. I also know that reaching my goal will give me back a confidence that I haven't had in awhile. I hate constantly feeling like the "big" friend; I hate always being self-conscious about my body wherever I go; I hate having such a negative body image. I KNOW all of the positive things that will come of me losing weight, so it's time to stop making excuses! :) Lastly, I am going to Physical Therapy school in a matter of months. In all of the volunteering and shadowing I've done, I've seen very few overweight, unfit physical therapists. Part of being a PT is promoting overall health and wellness, and I just can't see myself being the best PT I can be if I can't get my own health under control and "practice what I preach." I want to live a long, healthy, and happy life, and I am so excited to finally start making these healthy lifestyle changes!

GOALS: My ultimate goal weight is 145lbs. Once I get there, I'll see how I feel and decide if I want to go further. I will be ecstatic if I can reach the low-150s by the end of shayloss!! I can't even remember the last time I've been there.
Other goals include: getting into beach volleyball shape (i.e. feeling comfortable in a bikini again), getting out of the double-digit pant sizes, building up my cardio endurance, re-gaining control over what I put in my body, feeling comfortable in short shorts/skirts (I always hide my thighs!), a great body image, and SELF-CONFIDENCE! :)
PLAN: Food--I am keeping a food journal and I'm only eating when I'm hungry...trying to eat slowly and savor every bite so I feel truly satisfied. Exercise--cardio at least 30min 5x/wk, strength at least 2x/wk, yoga 1x/wk, volleyball 1x/wk. I also want to mix it up a bit and try new classes like BodyPump and Boot Camp!
I just started two challenges. First, a 21 day challenge, in which I am focusing on not drinking soda, getting to bed by 11pm, and only eating when I'm hungry and to the point of satisfaction, rather than being FULL every time. The second challenge is SHAYLOSS!! I know I am late in joining, but there are a little over 9 weeks left and I know I can make huge changes in my lifestyle and in my body in that time!! From what I've seen so far, everyone doing shayloss is incredibly motivated and supportive! This is my first time doing a vlog, and I think it is exactly what I need - something exciting, that I've never done before, that will give me new inspiration to reach my goals!
