It's funny. I looked up Dickey Moore because I had just finished watching my favorite film noir Out of the Past, where he plays a deaf/mute. I was wondering if he was really a deaf/mute. I guess this interview answers my question. What a nice man!

The cool thing about Peter Gunn was that each episode was a short film noir. If they made a Peter Gunn movie, it would probably end up being about violence, gun fights and explosions. The show was about Peter Gunn trying to find a bad guy and running into one or two quirky characters along the ...

Dionne was the engineer on this train. You need a strong voice like hers to sing the melody and allow Patti and Gladys to sing their great rifs around the melody. Dionne makes the other two sound even better. This performance is more than amazing, it's magic.

I heard somewhere that Bobby Darin produced this recording and he had the pace of the song build up to a climax as he did with his big hit "Mack the Knife".

I missed seeing Bret Hanover. In the late 60's, my dad took me up to Bandywine Raceway in Wilmington, De. I saw Cardigan Bay race a couple of times. He drew big crowds.
I used to look forward to hearing this music each week. It was really a shame they changed it. The opening of The American Experience has since never been as good.
