CLASSIC WHO - PLANET OF THE DALEKS 18 Videos

The Doctor and Jo follow a group of Daleks to the planet Spiridon. Here they find a group of Thals on a suicide mission to prevent the Daleks learning how to be invisible. The Thals believe there are a dozen Daleks on the planet, but the Doctor discovers a massive Dalek army held in suspended animation in an ice cavern. As the Daleks prepare to unleash a deadly backteria to destroy the Thals, the Doctor and his friends fight there way into the Dalek base. They manage to flood the army with liquid ice, freezing it for centuries. WHY A NEW SERIES FAN SHOULD WATCH THIS STORY ? Planet is quite a fun story to watch . This one features the first and only appearance of the Supreme Council Dalek which looks like a cross between a New Series Dalek and an old style 1960's Movie Dalek . The Supreme Council Dalek prop itself is indeed a 1960's Movie Dalek , which had some bits removed and given a new Black and Gold paint scheme to make it interesting . The story also uses a heck of alot of 1960'S Palatoy Talking Daleks which sadly get gunged to death in this story . The title of this story is somewhat wrong , as Skaro is the true Home Planet of the Daleks , not Spiridon . |

CLASSIC WHO - REVENGE OF THE CYBERMEN 10 Videos

All but a handful of the crew of Nerva Beacon have been wiped out by a plague disseminated by Cybermats. The Doctor realises that Cybermen are close by - hoping to destroy the nearby Voga, the Planet of Gold. Gold is leathal to Cybermen, and they must destroy Voga to ensure their survival. The Doctor is captured and sent down to Voga with two other humans, all three with bombs strapped to them, The Cybermen plan to detonate the bombs to destroy Voga. But when the Doctor defuses the bombs, the Cybermen decide instead to fill Nerva with bombs and crash it into the planet. The Doctor returns to Nerva and prevents the collision, while the Vogans destroy the Cybermen's ship with a missile of their own. WHY A NEW SERIES FAN SHOULD WATCH THIS STORY ? This story is set after Terry Nations Genesis of the Daleks [ also here as a Classic Who playlist ] . Revenge is the only Cyberman story from the 1970's era , the previous story was the Invasion starring the late Patrick Troughton in 1968 and after several odd years after Revenge was broadcast , the Cybermen returned in the 1982 Peter Davison story Earthshock , with brand new state of the art [ at the time ] Cybermen . This story see's a more deadlier form of Cybermat unlike two previous versions seen in the 1960's . Amazingly , this story strangely enough shows the Seal of Rassilon symbol used by the Timelords of Gallifrey , which some fans have suggested that the Timelords and the Vogans could very well be have been related . A Revenge of the Cyberman helmet from this very story was also seen in Robert Shearman's Series One episode , Dalek , when really , the Cyberman head shown should have been one from the previous story , the Invasion . |

CLASSIC WHO - EARTHSHOCK 12 Videos

The mysterious disappearance of an archaeological team is merely the prelude to a deadlier threat for the Doctor and his companions - the Cybermen want to destroy Earth, and will use any means at there disposal. The Doctor's ingenuity is stretched to it's very limits as he battles to defent the Cyber army at any cost. But even he does not realise just how high that cost will be ... WHY A NEW SERIES FAN SHOULD WATCH THIS STORY ? Earthshock is the first of three Cybermen storys made during the 1980's . The name Earthshock was very much a shock indeed as none of the audience at the time when this story was first seen had expected to see a brand new form of Cybermen at the end of part one . This story features a couple of black Androids which appear very similar to the silver Android as seen in the Five Doctors later on in the series . The Cybermen hadint been seen on television since 1975's Revenge of the Cybermen , so this was there return story after such a long time . Mathew Waterhouse's character , Adric , also dies at the end of this story which was an added shock to the story . He was simply killed off because he was too much of a genius like character , seemingly knowing too much perhaps . This story also features the somewhat annoying actress Berral Reid who died many years later after this story was made . |
