I like how this performance has the piano playing even in the beginning, where there is no piano part. It would have been the custom to play along, reading the bass part, as the pianist was also the conductor.

Always been one of my favorites. Once arranged it myself (a la Webern) to emphasize the motivic fragments as they come by, rather than trying to maintain the voicing. The fugue is particularly rich in those little cells, as is made evident in your graphic. Nicely done and thanks.
