It will always be Ethel Merman's. No one can surpass hers. Tyne Daly's version is very good and so is Angela Lansbury's. Bernadette Peters's and Patti LuPone's, not so much, not that they aren't great in other roles. Catch Bernadette Peters in Follies if you can.
