About this user
In the late 80's I visited a night club called Shoom in London SE1, where I found my love of a hugely eclectic mix of music and people. Further 'interesting' evenings at the likes of Future, Spectrum, XXX, RIP, Boomshanka and Promised Land paved the way to for me begin DJing at private parties and clubs in and around London. I was also involved with running successful club nights in the South East.
I developed an unavoidable interest in the creation of music and started writing and producing my own compositions.
In the mid 90's I partnered with two friends in setting up production company Air In Motion as an outlet for our own music together with writing, producing and remixing for others and a number of home grown artists.
I don't play a particular style of music; my record boxes contain just about every genre, from House to Acid, old style (80's) Garage and Chicago House, Synth to Balearic, Rock & Pop, and so on. Truthfully, if I love a track, I play it.
I'm also a founding member of contemporary dance company Pair Dance.
Since 2006 I have composed sound scores for international performances including New York, Boston, Spain, Turkey, Canada, Denmark and many in the UK.
Other primary functions include consultation in the execution of all strategic and outreach requirements together with core managerial functions of the company.
I have a tendency to lean towards instrumental and sound design styles, based entirely on emotive content and not on following a set style or procedure; "if it feels good or moves me, I run with it".
Establishing Pair Dance with Harriet Macauley in 2006 I have adopted a whole new approach to my work...
"Creating music and sound scores for Contemporary Dance is totally different from the popular music scene - it actually dictates more creativity and pushes you to break every rule of prediction or acceptance that an audience might normally have or expect"
