About me:
Been into rollercoasters since the first time I saw GRC's Golden loop AKA White Lightning blasted through the loop. Too young to ride it back then I started drawing coasters from walkway, POV angles. After first riding I was hooked, not only to coasters but anything that took that amount of engineering skill. Turning nature's ultimate force into art is one of the most intuitive things humans could do. Building against gravity and using it. I got myself a K'nex model and was amazed every single time I could see the train/car complete the circuit. As we entered the age of the digital world RCT got a grip on me, unfortunately it had limited design capabilities and all the enthusiasts wanted more. Hell I even bought Theme park world just to have the dynamics of the actual thing. Then well, Nolimits. Brilliant piece of software that can be used to educate and thrill every imaginative soul.

The name dj-dj well my first names are Dirk Jacobus and have been a username ever since I got a 56k dialup modem. I'm a big fan of EDM but will listen to any music that sounds good even classical. I first listened to 4 on the floor though a Album known as Bump mixed by local DJ Costa which included mainstream hits leaking from the scene before it commercialized. I didn't really start to produce or mix anything back then but was always a fan. Got my first copy of fruity loops at 16 and have been experimenting with synth software ever since. Dj'ing is not my occupation tho, I like mixing but to an extent as I don't see any technical merit in playing other peoples productions and benefitting off of it. When I get asked to play a set that includes other artist's music, I try not make as if it's my own. All a general DJ today does is beat matching harmonically suited productions and cross fading between the tracks. Yes there are talented turntabilists out there that can create completely original and creative mixes but they are few and far between and not being one of them myself I'll rather keep producing the slow painless way lol.
