The crane has a capacity of 40 Tons. Some re-manufacturing was needed, including hot riveting and also welding up the cast steel axleboxes (great fun for the welder as they were soaked in 70 years of oil...........)

Great thing was that the opportunity was taken to work on the training of two new (young!!) people in the working of the steam crane - thus halving the age of the crew!

Nope, the chime whistle on 73050 is brand new and was made and machined for the loco recently

@MrMaxiking888 No, that learning to high dive - he was already an accomplished highboard diver at the Olympic height of 10 metres. He's learning to take dives from 10m up higher. This itself is a low level lead up to the competitive level of 27 metres.......

@flyboy3633 Really shitty design. Engine in the middle, not at the front and had a habit of stalling out at high speed, but, unlike a front engined 'plane the nose wouldn't drop easily but tended to go into a flat spin.

It had a nasty habit of killing pilots and was pretty unpredictable in it's ...

@Hanglands Well, 656 and 1178 are being worked on in the sheds and the Belgian Bar is back in C&W having new vestibule ends being put in - Hardly getting rid of! Some, like the Class64 are unlikely to get back into steam - too much to do. The Swedish 'B', 101 is having a cosmetic and is a contend...
