Hey guys, been way too long I know.
Anyway, here is my new original that I've been working on this year. It's called 'Lie To Life'. The reason that I haven't uploaded very much this year is mainly because my life has been filled up with stuff that has kept me busy, mainly as this was my last year of school and I'm heading of for University. I think the main thing about this release is that it's essentially a collection of all the types of riffs that I like to hear in a song.
Info about the song:
Tuning is Standard C# (C#,F#,B,E,G#,C#)
Tempo is mainly 200BPM, but the break is down to 163BPM
Slightly different approach to recording guitars this time, as I bypassed the X3's processing and recorded the guitars completely dry of processing. Then I sent them off for reamping, where they were put through real amps and cabs, then mic'ed. If I remember correctly the amp setup was Guitar Maxon OD Peavey 6505+ Mesa 4x12 57.
Drums were EZX Metalheads with kick and snare replaced.
Recording software, as always was REAPER.
Video editing software was iMovie.
TABS AREN'T FINISHED! I know I've been pretty lazy recently, but I'll have them soon.
I think I'd go as far to say that this is probably the most interesting thing I've written, but some people will differ obviously. I think I'm still a bit unhappy with the mix but whatever.

Hey guys. Yes, I'm entering another competition. I just think it's a good opportunity to show you my more creative side.
This is basically what I sound like when I solo to a backing track now. It's just sort of laid back and groove orientated (pardon the lame expression). I mean shred stuff is cool but after a while it gets kinda samey and it's not that memorable. Also I thought it'd be a good transition video to my original Lie To Life which will come out within the next 3 months (if I'm lucky). The majority of the solo was improvised but I'd planned some of it too.
I used my Schecter Blackjack ATX, my POD X3 & REAPER for the recording side of things. My guitar was tuned to Standard C#
It'd be cool to win, but it's not really that big a deal. As I said with the other contest, it's just a bit of fun ;-)
If anyone wants to learn it, then I'll tab it out when I get time.

Angry at all the other covers of stricken, orangeman set out on a quest to do a good cover of this song. Armed with musicman1066's *new* LTD MH-1000, he played until the cows came home.
He transcribed this song entirely by ear, as the tabs available are atrocious, and I do not have any for it at this present time.
*Due to the misplacement of orangeman's former mask, orangeman is using a more depressed version of musicman's main mask, with a new bling bling hat*

I had LOADS of requests to play Psychosocial by Slipknot, well mainly to just play Slipknot, so I did.
If you're wondering how the hell I got my guitar down to drop A - I didn't, I recorded the guitar in drop C then changed the pitch.
The rhythm is pretty simple for this song, the solo was a bit trickier though, I think I did it alright.
The tab I've made is now available to download free from my website where it's been posted in Guitar Pro 5 format, if you do not have guitar pro please read the 'READ THIS' above the tabs. (It's funny how so many people manage to miss it)
I also made a shitty attempt at Joey Jordison's old mask, don't worry, It's a different one to my usual one.
