About this user

Matt Davis is a filmmaker and editor, with side gigs as actor, animator, writer, photographer and graphic designer. While attending Stuyvesant High School, he self-published "The Rational Neographic," featuring the first incarnations of his comic book character, "Hateful Jack." After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Matt moved to Los Angeles where he edited music videos for The Bee Gees, Selena, and Yo La Tengo, and episodes of MTV's "Austin Stories", John Leguizamo's "House of Buggin'", and Robert Smigel's "TV Funhouse." In 1995 he helped launch Mad-TV and directed segments featuring Orlando Jones, David Herman, Phil LaMarr, Debra Wilson, and Nicole Sullivan, He was supervising editor of Martin Short's improvisational series, "Primetime Glick," for Comedy Central (also making appearances as an actor on the show), and of Short's feature film, "Jiminy Glick in Lalawood." He has begun work on a graphic novel. Matt recently edited Human Giant short films appearing on MTV featuring Aziz Ansari, Rob Huebel, and Paul Scheer.

Currently Matt is completing a documentary about the controversial redesign of New York's most famous gathering place, "Square: Straightening Out Washington Square Park."
