i just found out that while the sheath can dull the blade you can use the sheath edge to strop the edge to very sharp in an emergency

yeah the eskabar sheath made my knife dul but in an emergency i thought hey if it makes it dull maybe it can make it sharp and so i stropped the blade with the edge of the sheath and VOILA! got it sharp again enough to deal with my task which was to cut a bunch of thick manila rope and no problem...

um you need to practice better knife handling techniques when cutting or use a different object to test the blade like a cardboard box or use a tripod for the cam so you can use two hands

in the outdoors stones of varying smoothness works in an emergency too

if you finish the edge by stropping it on the smooth lip of the cup the results will be better sometimes i use the edge of my granite counter which works well too

you have the wrong sheath which is tanto shape outline for the blade and the bk11 is a drop point contact kabar they should send you the correct sheath
