Digipainting is the combination of digital video recording and traditional painting. The camera movements should reflect the sound that the viewer is hearing, in some way, to make the whole listening / viewing experience somewhat transcendental. Music does this already, my attempt with this style is to allow the viewer to go deeper into this state, by allowing the abstracted / distorted images to take them there (it is not always easy to watch, i know, but if you relax into it, there are some very beautiful moments). The static one shot of a band playing a song is effective, if you are only there to listen, but this is visual medium, and thus that aspect should be explored.
The best way to view this stuff is to maybe 420 a little bit, put on some good headphones, sit back in a comfy chair and listen and watch. For better quality videos, visit the website: digipaint.tv
