I've found that a vacuum motor with a shorted winding does in fact spin, (powered by 12v AGM battery) but at an extremely slow speed, and jerks every time it hits the shorted spot. I'm thinking that if I cut out that particular winding, I might be able to get it to spin properly, To me, it sounds...

Nice light box. Have you ever tried to remove the shutter altogether, and/or run it with external power? Also, as another suggestion for a video, I'd like to see what happens if you overspin a fan with compressed air.

The SUNON fan is a "Vane Axial" type. That explains the vanes at the back. They're kind of rare, over all these years ive collected about a hundred standard ones, but only one vane axial.

@Jacobo017 You know you could just download Google Chrome and then install the AdBlock extention. That's what I did. Very effective at filtering the ads off pages. I dunno about the rest.

About the HP computer, i think you should try the DVD burner after washing it out. (I've done "destructive testing" to prove that works)
