I have been drawing photorealistic artwork since I was 14, but took a long hiatus sometime between then and now. Partly because there was too much going on, partly because I simply forgot that I used to draw. In 2008, I got back into it, and am looking forward to creating quite a few drawings this year! The main thing that inspires me to spend hours and hours on a drawing is that I love human faces - I think they are incredibly fascinating... the different textures, shapes, curves, light-fall-off, expressions... I honestly never get tired of them.
As you may have guessed, photorealism is done by looking at a photo, rather than the real person sitting in front of the easel for dozens of hours ;-) The neat thing is that now - in contrast to when I was a teenager - I have the camera equipment to be able to take those photos myself -- which means that I can really create these drawings from scratch, and I am also able to freely exhibit, reproduce, sell, take into commission... you name it... a lot of fun!
If you are interested in having your portrait (or that of your loved one) done as a photorealistic drawing, I'd love to hear from you! Next to portrait photography, I also offer wedding photography, soooo--- should you be getting married, I'd also love to hear from you! =) Especially if you like hiring people with lots of attention to detail and the drive to get it right ;-) Currently, prices start at $560 for a photorealistic pencil drawing, which is an excellent deal for you! (won't be offering this for very long)

@sexigreeneyes211 Thank you!! The woman is the mother of a coworker, who commissioned the drawing for her 50th birthday. She is not famous, though she's definitely beautiful enough. :) The picture was taken during a wedding of a friend. It was so much fun to draw!
