Like the old saying says: "a person that hums has a soulful song burning in their heart". From singing in her toy karaoke machine to being the youngest-lead vocalist in the adult church choir at age 9, and being a part of several other choirs while attending middle & high school in Rocky Mount, NC., it has always been in Chinue's heart to share her gift and love for music. After graduating from high school in 2005, Chinue relocated to Durham, NC to attend North Carolina Central University (NCCU). There, was when she first started recording on campus at the NCCU's studio and by this point in time, music revealed itself to her in terms of who she was in music. From the exposure through attending the studio sessions, this allowed Chinue to work with such artists as: Brandon "Broadway" Robinson, M1 Platoon, Phocuz, Young G.O.D.z, Ms. Shoney, and many others. Chinue's influences range from Bilal to Musiq Soulchild to Tone Trezure to Mary J. Blige. Her latest single is entitled "Simple Things" and can be heard on Carolina Exposed DVD YouTube's page & also on Empowered Women TV.
