DFTW Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax status organization which provides training, tools and methods for constructing not only superior shelter but complete community systems to those who need them most. Monolithic EcoShell Domes are at the heart of those methods.

Inadequate shelter is a detriment, pulling down those living in poverty. Seventy percent of Sub-Saharan Africa, fifty percent of South Asia, and twenty-five percent of Latin America and the Caribbean populations are living in extremely substandard housing. Slum dwellers face death caused by water borne and respiratory illnesses. There is a great need to improve their quality of living. Adequate and sustainable housing is crucial in an urbanizing world. According to the UN, there are about 1.6 billion people living in substandard housing and 100 million are homeless. During the next thirty years, those living in slums will increase to nearly 2 Billion unless action is taken.
