In someways its harder, but in other ways its easier. The ROM is much shorter with a log than a barbell press. But fuck, this is one of the most impressive things Ive ever seen. Derek is a beast.

Most black men seem to use two fingers, its part of the roots sound. If you look at african fingerstyle guitar EVERYONE uses two fingers even for tricky cross picking. Blues & Ragtime is similar in many cases. I realise Doc Watson was not one of those guys, but surely inspired by them.

Getting your arms/hands back and holding the bar tight, in turn makes your upper back very tight & solid. Which allows you to handle a lot more weight comfortably. Doing a squat like this is very similar to doing a no hands squat.
