Lyrics:
there's some boys in Carolina they just don't give a damn they work all day and eat to fast so they can ace all their exams they talk too much and never sleep, and drink till they are blind but they always march in time and they're singin' sweet Carolina take me home cause 'ole Big Red she can't fly alone so grab your rifle, shine your shoes march your tours and sing the blues dance along to Dixie, yeah South again will rise sweet Carolina take me home
while CofC is sleeping, and Clemson's all closed down there's a Citadel cadet dripping sweat from his brow if you don't wear the band of gold, you don't mean a thing to me that is why we sing sweet Carolina take me home cause 'ole Big Red she can't fly alone so grab your rifle, shine your shoes march your tours and sing the blues dance along to Dixie, yeah South again will rise sweet Carolina take me home
so if you wander down to Charleston i hope you don't forget who bombed those slimy yankees on The Star of The West freedom never sleeps so don't you dare close your eyes sing it one more time ya we're singing sweet Carolina take me home cause 'ole Big Red she can't fly alone so grab your rifle, shine your shoes march your tours and sing the blues dance along to Dixie, yeah South again will rise sweet carolina take me home

Are you an educator wanting to assign a Digital Media project? Look no further! We even have syllabus suggestions below! Simply have your students shoot and post a 2 minute summary of any great thinker from your field. Their videos may even get Featured in our next update! They can be artistic, serious, funny -- there's no expertise needed! Simply get out your camera, get creative, and POST YOUR OWN Today! [music: I Am Not Lefthanded - "The Place That Won't Take Me Back"]
---------------------------------- HOW TO POST: To Post a video to 2MinuteThinker, use the Video Response feature found when you click in the Comment section under this Welcome video. You must be signed in (YouTube accounts are Free) and can then choose a video that you have already uploaded to your account (see YouTube HELP links above to get started with an account). -Please include Transcripts of your Text in the Description of your video to make your video more accessible to a larger audience.
-Keep your video to only 2 minutes in length (excluding any intro/outro matter, such as a Title and Credits)
-Respect Copyright (there are many online resources for Creative Commons/Public Domain audio and visual content) FEATURED VIDEOS: If your video stands out as exceptional work, we may send you a Message on YouTube requesting to upload your work as one of the channel's Featured videos. ---------------------------------- EDUCATORS: SUGGESTION FOR YOUR SYLLABUS: Assignment Overview: Each student (individually or in groups of 2-3) will write, shoot, and post a two minute summary of a great thinker from our field. This will be produced in video format and posted it to YouTube.com/2MinuteThinker. Content must be accurate, substantive, efficient, and creative.
"Content" Requirement: - Thinker must be confirmed and approved with your professor 4 weeks before the due date (a list of individuals germane to our course will be provided, and feel free to suggest your own). - Within 2 minutes, you must summarize key components of your thinker's positions or contributions to the field. Generalities will be necessary, but deliberate verbal/visual/audio choice will allow you to "pack in" a lot of connective references that will lead viewers on to further research. You may choose to summarize one particular part of the thinker's career, such as "Aristotle on Poetry" or "Plato's Gorgias." - Verbal explanation must be highly substantive, yet efficient and understandable. This assignment will force you to deliberately consider word-economy. - Content must be appropriate for public viewing. This is your ethos at stake, as well as those associated with your post. Your video will be globally viewable, so make wise choices. - You will be evaluated based on the clarity of your explanation, the robustness of your descriptions, the efficiency in your delivery, and the accuracy of your characterization.
"Form" Requirement: - Video must conform to 2MinuteThinker 2-minute time limit (excluding intro/outro matter) and other 2MT Posting requests. - Audio and Visual elements must be thoughtfully utilized. See popular "YouTubers" for conventions of the digital genre (e.g., Meekakitty, LukeConrad, MysteryGuitarMan, etc.). Consider meaningful uses of background music, visual text, and on-location shooting to augment vocal delivery of your summary. - Recording while simply sitting at your desk in front of your laptop webcam will result in a failing grade for this assignment. Push yourself to creatively express the complicated content of your Thinker in a thoughtful way. - While "Hollywood quality" will not be expected, you must make good use of lighting, audio, and editing techniques. Avoid cheesy gimmicks that reduce the credibility of your video, such the use of numerous packaged transitions (e.g., using the "star-wipe" transition between clips). - You will be evaluated on creativity, purposeful thoughtfulness in your choices made, and overall success of execution.
