Pieve Vergonte 12 febbraio 2012 - La Battaglia di Megolo 68 anni dopo. INel fine settimana il Cusio e l'Ossola hanno reso omaggio ai morti dell'alpe Cortavolo avvenuta il 13 febbraio del 1944. Oratore ufficiale delle celebrazioni omegnesi è stato il consigliere regionale Aldo Reschigna. Sostituiva il presidente Cattaneo ammalato. " E' importante ricordate oggi questi eventi. Allora si combatteva per la libertà. Oggi l'Italia deve ritrovare unita lo spirito per superare questa difficile crisi " ha spiegato l'esponente del Pd. Sulla stessa lunghezza d'onda anche l'intervento del presidente della Provincia del Vco . Massimo Nobili ha infatti detto : " è giusto celebrare queste ricorrenze. E' altrettanto giusto le giovani generazioni conoscano questa pagina di storia locale ". Nel pomeriggio le celebrazioni si sono spostate a Pieve Vergonte. La tradizionale visita alla tomba della famiglia Pajetta e poi all'alpe Cortavolo dove l'amministrazione comunale ha deposto una corona di alloro. Viste le temperature rigide la cerimonia di commemorazione si è tenuta in piazza a Megolo. Il piazzale antistante la chiesa ha accolto i tanti intervenuti. Qui il sindaco Mariuccia Beccari ha pronunciato parole di ringraziamento chi ha combattuto per la nostra libertà ma ha anche ricordato due persone scomparse recentemente e figure importanti della storia italiana più recente : Giorgio Bocca e Oscar Luigi Scalfaro.

Alle prime luci del giorno uomini delle forze dell'ordine hanno cominciato ad allargare il perimetro del cantiere della Tav a Chiomonte, in Val di Susa, dove sono iniziati i lavori per il cosiddetto tunnel esplorativo. Luca Abbà, uno dei leader del movimento "No Tav", è salito su un traliccio della luce. Pochi minuti dopo, folgorato da una scarica elettrica, Luca è caduto al suolo. il documentario finale che racconta "Music Drops 4 Europe", il progetto ideato dall'associazione Cool e realizzato al Kantiere (Spazio Giovani del Comune di Verbania) in collaborazione con Associazioni a Distinguere.
I Laboratori artistici sul tema dell'acqua, le composizione di 6 canzoni registrate al Kantiere e presentate live all'Auditorium di S.Anna, l'esperienza a contatto con il Lago Maggiore, i fiumi del VCO e il lago di Como, l'ospitalità dell'Ostello della Gioventù di Verbania, il palco di Cer.Co.Top Band di Cernobbio coi vincitori Monkey Weather, i pranzi a Madonna di Campagna e le serate tipiche organizzate dai giovani dei Paesi coinvolti e ovviamente i pensieri e le opinioni dei giovani che hanno partecipato.
Francia, Spagna, Turchia, Romania e Italia insieme per questo scambio finanziato dal programma GIA (info su: www.agenziagiovani.it) che ha permesso a più di 30 giovani di incontrarsi e creare assieme, costruendo un pezzo di Europa e stringendo relazioni che dureranno a lungo. Un ringraziamento speciale allo Sportello Provinciale Eurodesk, all'assessorato Politiche Giovanili di Verbania, all'Ipercoop di Gravellona, alla parrocchia di Sant'Anna e a tutti coloro che hanno aiutato per costruire questa indimenticabile esperienza.

The final documentary about "Music Drops 4 Europe", a project developed by the association Cool and realized to Kantiere (Youth Area of the Municipality of Verbania) in collaboration with "Associazioni a Distinguere".
The artistic workshops on the topic of water, the composition of 6 songs recorded in the Kantiere Studio and presented live to the Auditorium of St. Anna, the experience in contact with Lake Maggiore, the rivers of the VCO (Piedmont) and Lake of Como (Lombardy), the hospitality of the Youth Hostel Verbania, the stage (with winners Monkey Weather) of Cernobbio's Cer.Co.Top Band, lunch at Madonna di Campagna and typical evening organized by youth of the countries involved and of course the thoughts and opinions of young people who participated.
France, Spain, Turkey, Romania and Italy together for this exchange funded by the GIA program (info at: www.agenziagiovani.it) which has enabled more than 30 young people to meet and create together, building a piece of Europe and holding relationships last long. A special thank you to Eurodesk, Youth Politics of Verbania, Ipercoop of Gravellona, the parish church of St. Anna and to all those who helped to build this unforgettable experience.

Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by John Petrucci, John Myung, and Mike Portnoy while they attended Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts. They subsequently dropped out of their studies to further concentrate on the band that would ultimately become Dream Theater. Though a number of lineup changes followed, the three original members remained together along with James LaBrie and Jordan Rudess until September 8, 2010 when Portnoy left the band. In October 2010, the band held auditions for Portnoy's replacement drummer. Mike Mangini was announced as the new permanent drummer on April 29, 2011.
The technically proficient guitar playing of John Petrucci elevated Dream Theater to the upper echelons of contemporary heavy metal. While its lineup has continuously evolved, the Long Island-based quintet has consistently delivered sharp-edged music. Dream Theater is known for its high-energy concert performances. While they've released several live albums -- Live at the Marquee, recorded at the London club; Live in Japan, recorded during the Music in Progress tour in 1993; and a triple CD and DVD, Live Scenes from New York -- they remain one of heavy metal's most bootlegged bands.
