Detroit Octane was formed in early March of 2008. They saw a lot of campaign videos circulating on the internet that other people had made, and thought -- no, knew -- that they could do better.

Combining a passion for politics with a love of song parody, Detroit Octane set out to create the most exciting political song parodies in the music scene. Detroit Octane is made up of Democrats and Republicans, but as a band, their only party affiliation is to making great music.

They've created songs for Democrats and Republicans alike. They'll create an exciting song and video for any member of any political party, any time and anywhere (preferably Hawaii!!!) Whatever it is they end up doing, and whoever they end up doing it for, one thing will be certain: Detroit Octane will take an existing song, change all the lyrics to reflect whatever or whoever they are singing about, keep the music the same, and create a whole new song that is still familiar but also new and excitingly different at the same time. In other words...
