Saw this group twice, 1973 and 1975...I had forgotten how much energy they had! Don Brewer wasn't the best from that era, but he was very good...more than that, SO much drive. Brewer owned that stage!

Surprisingly, no mention of overdubbing the new music, especially during the fight scene. Original master prints, even from sixties TV shows, have the audio tracks separated: dialogue, incidental music, and sound effects/canned laugh track...the original, cheesy sixties music audio was removed,...

@murfdog19 It was the rock drummer era too...John Bonham, Ian Paice, Carl Palmer, Don Brewer, Tommy Aldridge...there were Giants back then! The marathon solos those guys used to do were NEVER boring.

There are better double bass drummers all over today, but Tommy started the DB revolution. NOBODY was incorporating double bass drums into fills prior to TA...this guy, 22 years old with Black Oak Arkansas in 1972, turned the concept of double bass drumming upside down...at least 20 years ahead ...

This guy is the best to come along since Simon Phillips...and they both have it all: killer chops, ability to groove in ANY time signature, great-sounding drums...and above all, restraint when needed ( this last may well be the most elusive quality ).

Saw them this past Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, AL...when they did this gem, and got to that famous line, "They call Alabama the Crimson Tide", the crowd went absolutely NUTS. Hope SD dropped this one from their set list if they played Auburn...would've been a few boos...

THis music always defied you to sit or stand still! There are better drummers than Don Brewer...but NONE with so much enthusiasm and drive!

This IS the best version available...not only was the concert videotaped in 1974, when 400-line resolution was State of the Art ( and considered sexy! ), the show was edited to 3/4 U-Matic videocassettes, which topped out at 260-300 line resolution. If this seems mediocre, check out the umpteen...

Not too many centuries ago, they used to hang musicians for doing this. My first garage band was tighter than these guys!

Nice. Very nice! It takes courage, given how cruel people can be given the anonymity of the internet, to post something like this. It gives me a heightened respect for the piece as well as the man who first played it.
