Yep I was one of the kids too. Beach scenes were shot at Narrabeen, and some other scenes at Balmoral and in a studio in Paddington. I think I got $80 for a day off school... which was a lot of money if you use the "paddle-pops-were-five-cents-in-them-days" index.
