If you're using Windows 7 Home Basic or Starter, 1Gb of DDR3 RAM is best. However if you are using Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional, I would recommend a base minimum of 2Gb DDR3 RAM. Anything more will be best at about 4Gb DDR3 RAM. Now this is my personal preference, To run Windows 7 smoothly, the requirements are a bit lower, but I would stick to what I've told you.
