About this user

I learned about recording & engineering @ Lynn Lou Studio in Memphis Tennessee (home of Bill Black combo). I was invited (by my good friend and mentor and guitar genius, Billy Wayne Herbert) to come to Memphis, to write songs and be part of the team ( I had to learn how to write songs and everything else, but what a place to do it). I lived at Lyn-Lou in the back 2 offices for over a year and a half. I was a teenager (18), it was 1970. I met alot of great and famous Musicians that touched my life in music. Larry Robinson, Jim Rorie, Jerry Ward,Mack Allen Smith, Jerry Jaye, Ronnie Milsap, Elvis, ( I had only been in Memphis less than a week and I was invited to a party at the Memphian theatre that Elvis was giving. I was invited by a girl who was a chapter President of Elvis' fan club) (I will never forget it. I went to several other Elvis parties Libertyland ... ) I'm not bragging about I'm just proud of having had the experience , I was lucky to be invited. I met Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Ace Cannon, Larry Rodgers, Bob Tucker, etc. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.Years later I had a band called Dennis James and High Cotton...then I got the chance to play lead guitar with my hero Rockabilly hall of famer Jerry Jaye.and his beautful wife Darlene Battles..over the years I have opened shows with Mickey gilley,Kenny Dale,Razzy Bailey,Billie jo spears,Ray price,Terry Cobb,David Patillo,Narvel Felts,Bill Black Combo,Ronnie Milsap,Tommy Boyce,Karen Fairchild/Casey,Eazy, Drum King W S Holland a legend in music .
