Through the superlative stroke of the ivories along with creativity from the soul of a man that exudes sheer passion, Dennis Atkinson is one that brings absolute brilliance to any melody. Music is his purpose; and in that he is defined. Harmonious, convivial, authentic, and cadent are just a few of the major and minor chords that create the masterpiece for one of todays most masterful musicians and producers.
Born a native to the Philadelphia region, his humble beginnings were founded more than two decades ago in a small local church. From the age of 10, with small fingers and a big dream, the music began to come alive. As he began to grow up, placing his feet into the large footsteps of those that were planted by legends and forerunners became his daily bread. Being greatly inspired by Quincy Jones, Take 6, Mervyn E. Warren, The Manhattan Transfers, David Foster, Lang Lang, Oscar Peterson, Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, John P. Kee, and Hezekiah Walker; not withholding the tutelage and shepherding of Bishop Jimmie A. Ellis III, he has propelled himself to set the obtainable course of the chief musician. And in doing so from the church houses of Philadelphia to the House of Blues in Orlando, Dennis talents have heightened beyond the seas where there are no limits. Coupled by his formal teaching at the Settlement Music School that lead to his acceptance into The Berklee College of Music, his timeless styles of gospel, R&B, classical, and jazz have proven to be insurmountable.
Dennis music has credits to the world acclaimed as well as to the local grass root artists that have helped paved the way. The infusion of his unique sound and the preeminence of his skills have transcended and attached themselves to the collaborations, recordings, and productions of Tony Moore and Jehovahs Chosen, Tia Pittman, Darius Coleman, Dionne Carole, Da Truth, Bilal, Ginuwine, Teddy Riley, Jazmine Sullivan, John P. Kee, Tye Tribbett and Musical Director for Jaheim and more, with his most recent entitlement being the CEO of D.L.A. Music Productions
