Danny`s father (Mr Overweg) was also an excellent musician and also lead the Malando orchestra with great success.

After Johnny Meijer died in 1993 Art van Damme and his wife Dorothy flew to Amsterdam and laid flowers on his grave.

I wonder if they ever have met during their lives?

Now both are gone and both left a legacy of marvellous recordings for us to enjoy.
