Singer/Songwriter/Producer Jay Delano was born in Eindhoven (E-Town) the Netherlands. As a little kid he loved to sing and he had a deep desire to become a musician. At the age of fourteen he started to write his own lyrics on instrumentals from known recording artists. He got inspired by singers such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Bell Biv Devoe, Jodeci, Guy, Today, Troop, Brian Mcknight and later on by Black Street and Jagged Edge, but also by a lot of rap artists from back in the days like Big Daddy Kane, Special Ed, LL cool J, EPMD, Kool G rap and many more. He wasn't only interested in singing but he also wanted to rap, so he started to write rap lyrics. During that time he met several people with whom he started to work with in different recording studio's, where he developed himself into a serious songwriter. He started singing in boygroups and they performed at some clubs and local stages in Holland, but soon he found out that the guys did not share the same vision he had so he desided to go solo. He had a few nine to five jobs so he could earn some money to be able to buy himself some recording equipment and he started to produce his own songs. In 1996 Jay met two producers from Germany, one of them is known for his productions on Scatman John, who sold 7 million copies worldwide and the other was responsible for the succes of one of Germany's well known dance act U96. The guys started a new project together and they were looking for a singer for their pop/rap project. At first Jay didn't like the idea at all, 'cause he thought the music they produced was to much pop influenced. But eventually he made the choice to join the group and moved to Germany. They recorded their first single in January 1997 and 2 weeks later the song was listed in the top 100 in Germany on the 37th position. From that moment R'n'G was born. Their second single was listed in the top 20 for more than 6 weeks and their third single was listed on the 14th position in the single charts. The group became more and more popular in Germany and other countries accross Europe. They did some major collaborations with both, artists from the U.S.A. and from Europe, mostly focusing on the German market. They even participated on several charity songs together with names like the Backstreet Boys, N sync, The Boys, Bluemchen, Mr. President and many others. Their project did very well and R'n'G sold over 1.5 million records in several countries accross Europe. They performed on major events, clubs and live television. They've recieved an award for the best Eurorap act in 1998 on a German radioshow called R.S.H. and their album entitled 'The year of R'n'G' even went gold in Poland for selling over 50.000 units. They recorded their second studioalbum at Booya Music which at that time was based in Hamburg, Germany. Booya Music was responsible for major national and international artists, such as B.S.B, Fun Factory, Papa Bear, Nana and Modern Talking just to name a few..but unfortunately R'n'G's follow up album entitled 'The right time' was not released in Germany or else where because of unsolved issues between the record company and the producers...When this was all cleared up, they finished their second album wich was only released in Poland. From that moment in 2001 Jay decided to leave the band and went back to the Netherlands. He was tired of not doing what he wanted to do and went back from being a recording artist to having a regular nine to five job. He changed into a very spiritual person, went to church, became a born again christian and found his destiny in God through Jesus Christ. After a few years of hard labour and some major price-paying experiences Jay brought his passion for music to a higher level. In 2006 he recorded his first solo album 'Close to you'. The songs on the album are a mixture of pop, r'n'b and rap music. A few singles from the album were performed live on major events in Poland. At the moment Jay is working on his second solo album wich is scheduled to be released in 2009..
