I'm a self-taught pencil artist currently building my portfolio. I work in graphite & charcoal because I like the look & feel of classic black & white, but will soon get into color work, as well.

I don't use a grid, I draw completely free-handed. I was a CADD drafter for 4yrs, but I learned to draft by hand first. Never made a mark without a t-square, triangle or template, and that always made me feel a bit restricted. For some reason, the grid makes me feel the same way.
