@stratocastergirl I agree, In fact Mike has often said Pete was better on guitar than he was...also Davy was a competent drummer but the shows producers wanted him to be front man early on and they thought he couldnt be seen behind the drum kit. Mickey was actually the least musical of the 4 but...

I got this Album way back in the day because I saw him on the Monkees and heard it was his best one...Sadly it was a little too "grown up" forme at the time so I never listened to it ...It was destroyed in a flood like most of my others...

I loved this album as a kid but i remember being terrified of this track.....

@MsFitzzzz Mcguinn tells it that he being a very technical oriented guy wanted to call it 6 miles high but Gene being a more poetic type insisted on 8 miles as it sounded better...and also those 2 extra miles made it a drug song!

@rcswofford I agree completely with you....Geno was obviously the best writer....Speaking from musicianship alone tho the orig lineup doesnt hold a candle to this one....Case in point: Mcguinn on 12 string was the only Byrd who played on the Tamborine Man 45....and my apolgies to the Hillman fan...

@UPX4014 she did look a little bad at the HOF but I must say I met Ronnie once and she was very sweet, modest and appreciative of her fans....Lets face it Estelle and Nedra were beautiful and competent background singers(Estelle was the best dancer) but after all Ronnie was star of the show..Phil...

@sumbarine I agree that Brian was very cool and had the ability to master almost any instrument but please dont put down Mick Taylor. I have seen him live and he is arguably the greatest (certainly one of the most underated) of the British Blues Guitarists(yes that includes Cleptone)
