Look, big budget popcorn fare does not have to be stupid, crass and limp. Look at Die Hard. Look at Inception. Look at the Batman movies.
People will go see Transformers whatever happens inside the film, so Bay clearly doesn't care. He should at least try.

Look, the King's Speech is a great film, if utterly obvious Oscar bait. I personally think Black Swan was the best of the nominees, but I am not sorry at all that this won.
