to clear things up...this actually isn't Buyi Zama, this is Gugu Ngcobo as Rafiki. She was the second cover for the role and this was her very first performance :)

@AriaInTheSky It wasn't normally that color in the show actually. This performer is the understudy for Prince Eric, Bret Shuford, i think. In a show like this, the wardrobe department takes the actual color of a performer's hair and makes it their wig. So, the actual Prince Eric (Sean Palmer) ...

this is the one number in the show, for me, that falls short. The costumes are not good here, IMO. I fee like they got a bit sloppy with them, they could have made this number look so much more gorgeous and full of life as it does in the film.

@Nelsonbowler1 I think that the important thing to remember here is that it's not a good idea to tell an actor "oh! I LOVE the other person who played your role!"...she was probably a little caught off gaurd.

@jaszon27 i don't think she can help the vibrato, she has one of the most natural vibratos i've ever heard and it honestly sounds like, in some spots, she tries NOT to do it. p.s. I also would love to see her play elphaba

if you don't mind my asking, what actually happened as a result? I mean, did she get herself out of the lift? or did she stay in it or run forward? Also, what lights did they use, if u can remember, cuz the normal DG wouldn't work in this case.
