About Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs
The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs has primary responsibility for development of the state's interest in the areas of the arts, history, and other cultural matters. This effort is carried out by two divisions, The State Historical Society of Iowa and the Iowa Arts Council. The Great Places initiative and the CHAT program also work to further this goal.
