Music Videos for Daystar an indie band from Manchester
About Me:

Starting off as a bit of hobby and "summat to do" in a garage in South Manchester, Daystar is now rapidly developing a reputation as one of the up-and-coming Manchester Indie bands.

Daystar's meteoric rise over the last eighteen months it is in itself jaw-dropping. The band have gone in that time from a 1st live performance on stage at Moho Live! in Manchester in March 2010, to releasing their debut album "Daystar" in September 2010, featuring the sublime production work of the legendary Ronnie Stone.

In addition to this, they have played as "house band" with well received TV performances on ESPN's "Talk of the Terrace" in February 2011, playing live their Debut Single "Slip and Dive" and in September 2011, where the band were invited back to perform the next single "Off Our Heads" having been introduced by Presenter Nat Coombs as their "favourite band from last season". The band have also recorded the theme tune for Nat's "Americarnage" show Podcast, with many exciting things planned next year for the show.

The latest single "Off Our Heads" is also being played at many of the football stadia across the UK, including 9 Premier League clubs and receiving airplay on BBC Radio 2, Radio 6, Q Radio and many local BBC Radio stations up and independent radio stations up and down the UK and even as far afield as the US.

Daystar began with the supremely talented musician and song-writer Phil Cuthbert with friend, and band frontman, Simon Monaghan, getting together in Wythenshawe, South Manchester. Using a recording studio built in a garage as their base, they wrote some stunningly catchy and anthemic songs drawing on many of their life experiences.

They both felt the songs definitely had something about them and so, whilst family commitments meant Phil had to concentrate more on the song production side of things, Simon put together the rest of the band with the introduction of friend Ste Woods on Bass, then Ste's cousin Ryan Arnfield on lead guitar, Tom Mallas on drums, and Sam Bugajski on Rythym Guitar, to all put their stamp on the songs and take them out on the road, leaving Daystar to move forward with an exciting blend of experience, raw enthusiasm and undeniable talent to add to the mix as the band continued to evolve and they are all now working on writing songs for the second album.

With a sound that taps into the feel-good aspect of the sixties with a modern twist flirting clearly with the mod within, Daystar cannot help but draw you into an association of the tales each song has to tell, with Simon's voice shining through with such distinction and class, the whole Daystar experience taps into everyones own personal heaven or hell.

With numerous influences of some of the best bands to have graced any stage in the last 40 years, Daystar continue to deliver a sound that resonates in familiarity and yet is steeped in enough freshness to lead many well-respected people in the Music Industry, including BBC Radio 2's Janice Long, along with local DJ and former presenter of The Word, Terry Christian and DJ and Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon, along with Ed O'Brien, of Radiohead, to believe Daystar have the potential to be the next big thing

The next chapter for Daystar is fulfilling the undisputed potential here in.......
