Classic song , indeed. A truly great 3 minute pop song that has stood the test of time .

Seems a lifetime away but RD is still singing,writing, appearing 46 years later and I am thankful for that.

We were lucky enough to see Julia in Central Park performing this song, That Flame and Homesick for the Moon. Brilliant

Wonderful song, wonderfully sung and played. I saw Julia in Central Park in November on my way to the Ray Davies concert.

Two great writers and performers on the same day, I felt truly blessed.

Nice version of this Ray Davies song which was of course about the relationship between him and his brother Dave.

This song was written about Princess Anne.

Always 2nd best and of course then Diana arrived.

Wonderful. Great twist in the lyric at the end. Ray at his very best. Prefer this version to the one on the songs of Ray Davies Waterloo sunset release disc 2 track 12.

Bet when he was a young boy in Muswell Hill Ray never thought he would end up playing in The Queens back garden at Buckingham Palace !!

Those of you who know me will know I have never been the greatest fan of Dave but I make an exception for this song and Living on a thin line.

The mans a genius. So much of his best work has been done without the Kinks when he has been writing for himself rather than the band.

I have no idea where the idea came that Ray Davies was a mod. He was and still is not like everybody else.

He never followed any trends.

Thanks for your response. yes me and my now wife Linda used to speak to Jeff , Greg and Ollie at places like the Bulls Head and the Queens Head in the 60s.

We regularly went out just to see the Idle Race.

Jeff wrote some lovely tunes even in those early days, Girl at the window, No more sad song...

Ive done a lot of travelling and foiund for myself that both the British and US Governments are liars and propogandists

Watching this and other films about Iran made me feel physically sick about the lies we are told.
