I started doing makeup 43 years ago as a member of a clown troupe. I went on to study for my Ph.D. on the concept of health and beauty then entered the industry after attending Blanche MacDonald makeup college in Vancouver.
I have worked as a national artist for Estee Lauder and Elizabeth Arden cosmetics and have also worked in the field of medical makeup.
Over the years, I have also worked in theatre, film, the beauty industry and with select international clients in the production of album covers, and in the corporate world, providing makeovers for top industry leaders.
My Ph.D. was in the field of the relationship of beauty to health at the University of Toronto, and I then taught at Ryerson University and held academic posts and the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. I taught beauty and theatre for the School of Makeup Art in Toronto and dermatology at Sutherland-Chan College over the past 2 years.
