The 'beautiful and historic' Virginia Theatre in downtown Champaign IL lay largely forgotten by touring concert artists until it was offered for sale in 1992 and thus came to the attention of GDP. During the period 1992 - 1996 the 1600-seat Virginia was leased and operated by Glorious Day Productions (David and Sharon Wyper) as a very active concert venue, with a weekly performance series "Gospel Night at the Virginia Theatre" with David Wyper as promoter and MC as well as perfomer.
