The polar bear is the largest land carnivore.. They weigh 1500 lbs and stand 12 feet tall upright.. That's as tall as an elephant. They're packed with 3-inch canines and 2-inch claws. Polar bears are known to prey on seals, beluga whales, and sometimes walrus calves. The paws are very powerful, powerful enough to break a bull moose's back in 1 strike. That would be enough to break a lions' back too. The lion would be either killed instantly or paralyzed.
