About Me:
I began to learn to play the guitar at the age of ten.
My influences were everyone who played the guitar brilliantly, from Hendrix to Joe Pass, Steve Howe of YES was particularly influential in my early years. These days I draw huge inspiration from the greats in modern jazz , especially John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Mike Stern...the list goes on and on.
I supported Simple Minds at the Marquee in 1979!
I was a signed artist in the 80's to Stiff Records and MCA America with pop/rock band Passion Puppets.
We had a worldwide album release on Stiff Records and MCA America.
Major uk support tours with Paul Young and The Psychedelic Furs.
In 1988 I had the pleasure of working with South African musician Jonas Gwangwa and performing with him at the Wembley Stadium Nelson Mandela Concert.
The 90`s saw the start of my professional teaching career and I became a member of The Registry of Guitar Tutors.
Numerous session guitar stints throughout my entire playing life have given me the opportunity to work with artists of all kinds.
In the late 90`s I played lead guitar for the stunning Genesis Tribute band G2 and a short stint with YES tribute band Fragile.
For the last 10 years I have concentrated on my own original music in modern jazz which has attracted acclaim from many eminant musicians and led to a collaboration with top New York drummer John Favicchia.
I am also composing music in many styles for production music companies, supplying music to the TV and Film industries.
Recently, 6 original compositions of mine appeared on the cd The Jazz Collective released by THE ARTFUL CORPORATION LTD and Focus Music have added me to their roster.
1 composition co- wrote with collegue Kevin Jones signed to PLAN 8.
I have just submitted 16 new tracks for Focus Music summer brief 2010
In summer 2010 The Shameless Media Group hired me to play guitar for new artist Felicia.
