Tribe World Ensemble is an Australian World-Music group who have recorded a world-first innovation in album creation using the Internet. The album is the first of its kind, now due for release. This is an exciting innovative global initiative, breaking new ground in the way music will be created in the future and it is happening right now in Australia.

The album is called The Message Stick

David Pendragon's work on this album has already won him the 2006 International Online Music Award (I.O.M.A) for "Best Producer". David is an independent music producer who lives in Canberra and is using his boutique studio, "The Studio" and the internet to produce this world-class album through a collaboration of musicians from across the globe, including: Europe, U.S.A, Canada, U.K, India, Singapore, and Australia. Pendragon has attracted substantial interest from Australian media and industry having already been covered in news and radio interviews -- Win Television, ABC Radio and ArtSound FM.

Another member of Tribeworld Ensemble, Ernie Van Veen was a winner in the top ten folk songs of the year [Port Fairy Folk Festival Awards] with the song Flag of Democracy from the album "The Journey"

Early in 2005 Pendragon began to explore the internet as a means to promote Canberra band Tribe and their album 'The Gathering'. Through further investigation Pendragon was inspired by the idea of using the internet to produce, write and coordinate an entire double album of quality music with musicians who had never met and, in many cases, had never even conversed with each other. This has never been done before. Without the internet as a tool it would not be possible for them work with each other due to the vast distances involved. This is what makes this album a 'world-first'. This fact alone will ensure the exposure of this album worldwide.

This album incorporates the talents of over 30 incredibly gifted musicians and songwriters from across the globe who are true artists in their chosen disciplines!

The Message Stick is an eclectic gathering of music and songs ranging from World ballads and classical pieces right through to Folk/Celtic and Roots music and a few new versions of well known songs by other artists and writers. Tribe World Ensemble (TWE) creates music that appeals to people from every corner of the globe involving the traditional music of many cultures,
The quality of the emerging album is first-class and some of the demos have already received glowing reviews on internet review sites.

The musicians involved are artists well known in their own communities for their musical expertise on instruments such as: violin, cello, sitar, guitar, lap-slide guitar, drums and percussion, Native American flute and more.

Tribe World Ensemble evolved out of a Canberra, Australia band called 'Tribe' who are best known for their album 'The Gathering' and more locally for their fundraising single 'Bushfire' -- released in 2003 to raise funds for the victims of the Canberra bushfires of that year.

The album 'The Gathering' was released in 2000 This album is still selling well, and was featured as 'Album of the Week', with frequent airplay by ABC Radio shortly after its release.

Tribe grew into Tribe World Ensemble to incorporate and consolidate a trans-global sharing of ideas and talents.

After his success with The Gathering, the idea of a high-quality, well-recorded album of World music was a natural progression for award winning producer, David Pendragon. Once Pendragon had discovered the 'new world' of the internet, he was immediately inspired to undertake the entire album using the internet as his main tool and realised that this was the true meaning of World music.

Pendragon enlisted all the musicians needed to create this album through internet forums and via his industry contacts as a producer and recording engineer.

Pendragon recorded specific parts and made them available on the internet to enable the contributing musicians to record their parts and then return these via the 'net. Pendragon then mixed these parts into the main mix in his studio in Canberra.

Some song writing and creative development took place during late-night intercontinental or interstate voice-over-internet conversations.. humming a tune in Canberra to a sitar riff somewhere on the other side of the world.

Combine all this with the talents of local and interstate vocalists, and you have a world-class album, pieced together in a very unusual way.

This is truly redefining the term - 'World Music'!
