David, thanks for your comment on "The French Girl". Since you seem to be a Tyson fan, maybe you can answer a question for me. Is "Song for Canada" about the rift between the French and English populations or between the U.S. and Canada? I had originally thought it was the French and English since that's always a problem in Canada but they're not really two nations. The two nations in North America are Canada and the U.S. If it's the U.S. and Canada, then the song seems to be from a U.S. point of view, being the more powerful nation, strange from a Canadian writer. I've never found any discussion on the meaning of the song on-line. Thanks.

I liked your comment on covers at the Joan Baez "day after tomorrow" vid.

Many singers fill a song with part of their soul somehow (lots of fantastic examples on YT even by bedroom amateurs) and some so called popstars rob a song of any depth.

Of course I can leave them to those who like them, but sometimes it hurts especially if you can't escape it in a shopping mall (like "last christmas" by Cascada. )
