I think it was the record label that kept Van Der Graaf Generator out of the States.I am sure they would have found some followers in the early 70's considering all the weed that was smoked and hash that was ate.I think their sound is a bit like King Crimson and ELP with woodwinds but with Peter G style drama in the vocals.Hey check out my friends band Presto Ballet.I live in the Seattle/Tacoma area and there used to be a metal band called Metal Church and Kirk Vandersloth was a member.Presto Ballet is like Kansas or Marillion.I think you might enjoy them.
