Swing Fling 2011 Champions/Allstar Jack & Jill contest. This was recorded at the 20th Anniversary of DC's summer West Coast Swing & Hustle Dance Party weekend. 850+ dancers came together this weekend in August 2011. In Jack & Jill contests the competitors are paired randomly and must improvise a performance to 2 songs the DJ selects for them. MADjam11 Pro/Am Spotlight
Pro/Am Spotlight contest at MADjam 2011. The Mid Atlantic Dance Jam is the largest West Coast Swing & Hustle competition in the USA. The pro/am spotlight division features students dancing with their teachers to a 3 minute choreographed West Coast Swing or Hustle dance routine. These are the 10 finalist couples picked from 40 entries in the MADjam 2011 Champions Jack & Jill. Couples are randomly paired and judged by the other competitors. Each must place themselves last. They do not know which parter or which songs will be chosen for them. It's an excellent example of improvised West Coast Swing performances.
