thats when a tecumseh engine was a tecumseh engine...i have 2 exact ones like yours and they sit outside under tarps and will start 1st pull everytime..have not had to use the electric starter all the time i owned them.

you could not possibly have seen oil flying /leaking all over the machine while you were using it? mabye a 2 stroke one would be better for you...mabye...

I do have the problem with hand hitting killswitch when tilling but, i am going to remedy that either i am going to mount small toggle on the starter housing or on the brace across the handles that says mantis on it.

Those were produced in early to mid 70s they were built for commercial use and, had the 4 blade configuration. The engine was built by tecumseh and, is a 2 cycle with, 4 hp output. i have seen these many times when i was a kid and, actually owned a couple. they were excellent mowers in thier day...

i had exact same one when i was a kid..there was a hood that went over the engine..had jacobsen logo along the side and had sticker that said "4 blade" on it. do you have the hood to it?

beautiful job on it but, after all the expense of powdercoating and, parts to rebuild the engine and stuff, you wouldn't shell out 35 dollars for mower skirt part to complete the machine? lol...

i have the same exact guitar same color too....i absolutly looove it !! i play straghhit thru a fender vibro champ amp and a fender 65 deluxe reverb amp..no pedals or anything..the only guitar i own (i have 7) that is the hardest to put down......your a excellent player too btw.......nice vid..

if the primary ignition coil is going bad, it will cause the symptoms that you describe. a small internal short within the windings of coil will allow engine to start ...run for minute or 2 depending on how many turns are shorted, then engine dies and will start again if left sitting for few minu...
